Vicente y José Casasco set up a pharmacy store at Tortona and then at Torino. They are followed by Dr. Eugenio Antonio Casasco, a pharmacist graduated from the Royal University of Torino in 1865. While Deputy Director of the Royal Hospital of Torino, Dr. Eugenio Antonio Casasco is hired to make a research on the meat preservation process to be transported in refrigerated ships.
